Welcome! I am honored to serve as the principal of Prescott South Middle School and feel fortunate to be part of such a wonderful school family. We have a talented group of educators that embrace children and learning. In addition, our parents are encouraging and supportive and are an integral part of our team. Prescott’s family friendly atmosphere is very unique. Together teachers, staff, students, parents, and community collaborate to create an engaging learning environment.

Teamwork between the home and school is an important part of Prescott’s success. We have several resources to stay connected with parents. Please be sure to sign up for “email news” on our school website. This resource will allow you to receive important weekly updates through your email. As well, a hard copy of our school newsletter is sent home every 4 1/2 weeks, each time grades go home. Information about access to PowerSchool will be sent to you so that you may check student grades and attendance from home. Communication with the classroom teacher is the best source for answers to your questions and the school website is full of information for parents. The administrative staff is always available to assist you as well.

We feel that parents are an integral part of our team and encourage you to join the numerous parents who volunteer to help. Some parents volunteer in the classroom to assist the teachers while others help by tutoring students or do other important work of the school. I encourage you to become involved with the PTO as they are an active and vital part our school’s success.

We are committed to developing all children to their fullest potential. Meeting the academic needs, social needs, and promoting the development of character and community in each child is a priority. We look forward to your involvement and continued support for our school community. Soon, we will celebrate the opening of our school as we transition into the new year in a new location and as a 5-8 school.
